I am so glad you wrote this article. GMO foods were specifically designed to withstand the dousing of glyphosate. After visiting Italy 10 years ago and not having any GI problems, I only buy Italian flour and use it in all my cooking and baking. No problems ever, which lead me to think exactly what you write here - the gluten and other allergies may be from GMO foods and foods sprayed with glyphosate. I recently wrote an article on Greek honey. Greece does not have problems with bee colony collapse like the U.S. GMO foods and glyphosate are not allowed in their agriculture. These countries may not be perfect but at least they value their food system and their people with laws. If you don’t you will have a very sick population.

Thanks Mary Ann. These chemicals used definitely affect so many other natural food processes such as the bee colonies, which we need for our agriculture. Europe does lead the way in keeping their agricultural systems sustainable and chemical free. Just like our ancestors. I do believe that those who have gluten issues, me being one, that it is from the chemicals and GMO plants.

Is Nature Valley the worst?

Yes that product and Cheerios seem to be the worst offenders. I would stay away from the General Mills products.

I had no idea what glyphosate was, but thanks for breaking down the dangers of consuming this ingredient!

Is is surprising how many people do not know what is sprayed on our food. I have my suspicions that this chemical is involved with so many people having issues with wheat/gluten. It may be more of a response to the chemical and not the plant itself. More research on that is needed
